ALIVE: The President’s Award for Volunteering
St. Vincent De Paul
The University of Galway student volunteering programme, ALIVE, enables students to volunteer with
charities, community organisations, non-profits and within the University of Galway across a wide
variety of projects such as health, education, arts, sport, social justice, and environment. ALIVE is
dedicated to helping students volunteer in the area of their choice which suits their individual needs,
interests and time commitments.
To earn this badge a student must:
• Volunteer with one or more activities and accumulate at least one semester/10 hours minimum
with no maximum upper limit.
• Complete the online reflection diary indicating their Sustainable Development Goal focus.
• Reflect on their volunteering experience including personal and professional development.
