Sustainability Champion
A Sustainability Champion is a student who actively drives sustainability efforts through leadership,
advocacy, and hands-on initiatives. They raise awareness by educating peers about critical
environmental issues such as climate change, waste reduction, and responsible consumption.
Leading by example, they adopt and promote sustainable practices like recycling, energy
conservation, and eco-friendly habits. Collaboration is central to their role, as they work with student
organizations, faculty, and administration to implement sustainability-focused policies and programs.
Additionally, they engage the wider community through workshops, campaigns, and volunteer
initiatives while developing innovative solutions to address campus sustainability challenges.
To earn this badge, the student must:
· Attend Introduction to Sustainability induction.
· Participate in the Community & University Sustainability Partnership (CUSP),
- OR Get active in the SU Climate Crew,
- OR Achieve a Student Sustainability Leadership Awards,
- OR Be a Student Residences Sustainability Champion,
· Write a very short reflection paragraph (max 300 words.
