Business Information Systems
The objective of the module is to provide participants with a broad understanding of the fundamental
roles, applied impact and strategic importance of information systems (IS) for individuals, for
enterprise and for sustainable society. Participants gain an understanding of the potential role of
information systems in contributing to innovative solutions, that are compatible with the UN
Sustainable Development Goals agenda.
Students work in teams of 5, establishing a group contract outlining clear roles and responsibilities of
all team members and ground-rules for interaction. Students leverage Microsoft teams to host
structured communications, documentation and meetings developing the ability to collaborate and
work effectively in an online forum.
To earn this badge the student must:
• Successfully complete and pass a team assignment that demonstrates a comprehensive
understanding of the complex and dynamic relationship between IS and the UN Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs).
• Display competence, efficiency, and effectiveness in utilising MSTeams specifically, and other
technologies generally (including AI tools) to enhance knowledge work, team performance and
collaborative learning.
